A NEW DOLL

This doll I did not make. I bought this one in Sedona, Arizona when we went up there a few days ago. Why did I buy a doll you may wonder. Doesn't Charlotte have more dolls than she knows what to do with already? Yes. That's true. But -- this cute little shop in Sedona had marked down all their little fancy dolls like this one half price. For $20 I just couldn't pass it up.  And, besides that this doll will do "double duty". She has a loop on the back of her hat so she can be used as a Christmas tree ornament when you remove the stand. How cool is that?

Since I had not posted anything on this doll blog since Valentine's Day, I decided to post this doll here now. I'll probably post it again on my Charlotte's Weblog blog for Pink Saturday. That's probably one reason I couldn't resist buying this doll. She's wearing my colors.

Thanks for coming here to visit. I hope you will leave a comment so I will know you were here.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

DOLLS & ROSES

I was looking through my doll album. Yes, I have a photo album with nothing but pictures of my dolls. All of them taken around 20 years ago when I first made them. Our roses were blooming and I took some pictures outside by the rose bushes. I've been intending to add these to my doll blog and decided this would be a good time to post a couple of them.

Go visit Jan at ROSE HAVEN for links to more rosy posts.

Same doll - different rose bush.

I posted an Outdoors Wednesday on my Charlotte's Weblog blog featuring wind chimes. You can click here to go there if you're interested.

BLUE MONDAY

It's Blue Monday again hosted by Smiling Sally. Be sure to go visit Sally by clicking on the pretty blue bird. If you love blue, and most people do, you will find links to lots of blue things there.

Today I decided to share some blue in my doll room again. I found this glider chair with foot stool at a yard sale years ago. Seems like I paid $5 for it. Now that I look back on it, I'm amazed if I got it for that price, but that is what I remember.

I see some more blue there in the background in the window seat. It's a heart pillow and a cat pillow that I made a long time ago. (Seems like I did a lot of things "a long time ago"). The Sugar Britches baby doll (that I made a long time ago) also has blue trim and ribbon on her outfit.

Here at the other end of the window seat is another doll I made a long time ago with blue clothes.

PINK SATURDAY

Tomorrow is Pink Saturday over at Beverly's blog. Here is a preview of what I'll be sharing there tomorrow on my Charlotte's Weblog blog.

BLUE MONDAY

This week I decided to post my Blue Monday on the doll blog. Why did I do this? For two reasons. The blues I'm featuring are in that room and the second reason is that I just posted a video on my main blog of Dave Dravecky, former pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. He was the guest speaker at our church yesterday and I wanted to share his wonderful testimony of what God is doing in his life with my blogging friends. You can click HERE to hear his inspiring message.

So here it is - Blue Monday in my doll room.

These little figurines were hanging out at the dollar store a few days  ago just waiting for someone like me to spend a couple of dollars and take them home. I thought they would look cute in my doll room.

The picture above the shelf is my 3rd grade class picture. I made the stained glass frame. And at the right is a white with blue handkerchief that I encased in glass with lead around the edges. These two things have been hanging in this room for oh, probably 17 years. My the time flies.

Here are closer up views.

Be sure to visit Smiling Sally for more Blue Monday posts.

Hugs, Charlotte

ORGANIZING MY DOLL POSTS

I shared most of my dolls on my At Home in Scottsdale blog before I started this blog just for my dolls. I thought it would be good to feature these dolls again here with links to the original posts I did on them. So, the first one I'm featuring is Leah.
Here she is. You can click HERE to go to the original post I did last year.

Click HERE to go to the followup post that tells how Leah ended up in India where she lives still.

SMILE AWARD

I visited Isabella's Closet blog and came away with this award. She was freely giving it away to anyone who visited her blog. It made me smile. Can you actually look at it without smiling? Anyway, as I said she was giving it away and wanted the recipients to give it away to bloggers who make them smile. Tell you what, if you are visiting here and you're smiling, go ahead and grab the award and let's keep it going around blogland.

Googly Doll at Christmas

I get the feeling that my dolls are feeling a little neglected again as I have not posted anything here in awhile so tonight I ran across this picture of my Googly doll that I took at Christmas time over 20 years ago and thought I would share it with you.

Merry Christmas!
